"It's a RIGHT for a child to be safe, NOT a PRIVILEGE"

Violent crimes against children are the subject of great community concern and the focus of legislative and professional concern as well. This is evidenced by the steadily rising reports of child abductions and forms of child abuse, by the expanding body of abuse literature being produced and the intense media coverage of child abductions and other crimes against children. It is very difficult for most people to discuss these problems and acknowledge that they happen to children of all ages. The fact is, it is happening, it's happening everyday in the United States.

There is an estimated 800,000 children reported missing every year, or more than 2000 children missing everyday in the United States. A vast majority of these children are recovered quickly. There are more than 620,000 registered sex offenders in the United States; more than 100,000 are noncompliant and missing. These are the sex offenders we know about, there are several thousand sex offenders that have not been introduced to the criminal justice system yet. On average, a child molester will abuse between 30 and 60 children before they are caught for the first time.

Time is of utmost importance in the case of a missing child. 76% of children abducted and murdered, were murdered within the first 3 hours of being abducted. One (1) in five (5) girls and one (1) in ten (10) boys will be sexually victimized before the age of 18 years old. Two-Thirds (2/3) of the sex offenders in state prisons committed offenses against children.

Teaching children how they can avoid becoming the victim of a pedophile and safety works. Children escaped attempted abductions 89% of the time through their own actions, 33% actively resisted by using an acronym the NCCSA uses called S.K.Y. (SCREAM, KICK, YELL). 56% of children recognized something was not right and responded by walking or running away.

The National Center for Child Safety and Awareness (NCCSA) is dedicated to educating children, parents, law enforcement and the communities in the areas of Child Abductions, Molestation's, Internet Crimes, Bullying and other crimes against children. The number of crimes against children has reached epidemic proportions. The NCCSA is vigorously working towards dramatically lowering those numbers so that children and parents can feel safer.

The focus of the NCCSA is to provide safety seminars for children, parents, teachers, PTA's and community events in a variety of safety and awareness areas. These seminars teach skills to help prevent abductions, molestations, and other crimes against children. The NCCSA has worked with thousands of children utilizing role-playing, floor chats, and various hands on exercises. The NCCSA safety seminars are conducted with the participation of both children and adults. All child safety seminars are positive, fun and educational, but not frightening. We believe that children learn more quickly and easily in an environment free from pressure and apprehension. The NCCSA also conducts parent only seminars that stress the reality of what's going on in the United States when it comes to abductions and crimes against children.

The National Center for Child Safety and Awareness (NCCSA) is a national resource for child protection. The NCCSA is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.

"And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depts of the sea."
Matthew 18:5-6 (NIV)
